The American Energy Alliance will score the following amendments to the Senate continuing resolution S. Con. Res. 11, the fiscal year 2016 budget. These or similar amendments, should they receive a vote, will be included in our American Energy Scorecard.
AEA urges Senators to vote YES on the following amendments:
- Stop BLM’s attack on domestic energy: Amendment #414 by Sens. Inhofe and Hatch establishes a spending-neutral reserve fund to prevent the Interior Department from preempting state authority to regulate hydraulic fracturing. YES is the pro-energy, pro-federalism, and pro-human flourishing vote.
- Expedite LNG exports: Amendment #448 by Sen. Gardner establishes a deficit-neutral reserve fund to expedite approval of LNG export applications, which will promote American energy development. YES is the pro-energy, pro-trade, and pro-free market vote.
- Block EPA’s ozone overreach: Amendment #795 by Sen. Cassidy establishes a spending-neutral reserve fund to prevent EPA from blocking permits for manufacturing and energy construction in areas of the country deemed in non-attainment with EPA’s proposed ozone standards. YES is the pro-energy, pro-jobs, and pro-human flourishing vote.
- End wind welfare: Amendment #819 by Sen. Flake or #862 by Sen. Lee establishes a spending-neutral reserve fund to repeal the wind production tax credit, which will cost taxpayers $6.4 billion over the next decade. YES is the pro-energy, pro-taxpayer, and pro-free market vote.
- No gas tax hike: Amendment #863 by Sen. Lee prevents an increase in the federal gasoline tax. Congress should not hike gas taxes to bail out the broken Highway Trust Fund. YES is the pro-energy, pro-motorist, and pro-human flourishing vote.
- Protect states from EPA: Amendment #863 by Sen. McConnell creates a deficit-neutral reserve fund to prohibit EPA from withholding highway funds from states that refuse to submit State Implementation Plans for EPA’s carbon dioxide regulation for existing power plants. YES is the pro-energy, pro-Constitution, and pro-federalism vote.
- Prevent a carbon tax: Amendment #928 by Sen. Blunt prohibits Congress from levying taxes or fees on carbon dioxide emissions. YES is the pro-energy, pro-worker, and pro-human flourishing vote.
