Renewable Fuel Standard Elimination Act
Bill hr703

Description

Congressman Goodlatte has introduced H.R. 703, a bill to repeal the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). The American Energy Alliance supports repealing the RFS and urges all Members of Congress to co-sponsor H.R. 703. Co-sponsorship of this legislation will be calculated into our American Energy Scorecard.

There are a number of reasons to support the complete repeal of this mandate.

1. Congress Should not Mandate the use of a Commercial Product

2. The RFS is a Solution in Search of a Non-Existent Problem

3. The RFS is Fatally Flawed

4. Congress and the President Cannot Mandate a Product to be Cost Effective

5. The advanced portion of the mandate increases gas prices

6. It encourages inefficient ethanol trading

7. The RFS is a Corporate Handout

8. EPA is incompetent at administering the RFS

9. The advanced biofuel portion of the mandate mirrors a California style LCFS

10. Corn Ethanol can thrive in the market without the mandate

The American Energy Alliance supports a complete repeal of the RFS and urges all Members of Congress to co-sponsor H.R. 703 or future viable Senate alternative. Co-sponsorship of this legislation and any Senate counterpart will be calculated into our American Energy Scorecard.
